RIch Fie makes his triumphant return to NLJBS to have a long talk with Nick about this quarantine we all find ourselves in. The topic of whether to tattoo during all of this comes up, as well as some downright serious discussions about family, Italian food, friendship and hip-hop. You don't want to miss it, folks.
Shop Talk hasn't quite caught up with us yet, but hopefully Mr. Chris Porter and Andrew Conner will be back to talk about what makes tattooing great in no time. Enjoy, y'all.
Alright y'all. It's a crazy time out there in the world right now. Nobody is hittin' the road to travel in to the No Lies Just Bullshit studios, so they're phoning in some excellent bullshit to bring you the content that you know you want to hear every week.
This time, Jill Bonney - legendary tattooer and contributor to NLJBS - clued Nick in to a good friend and tattooer in San Fran who had contracted the COVID-19 virus and has come out on the other side of it with the help of his girlfriend and a community of heroic medical workers to be able to call in and talk to Nick about the experience.
Jill comes in on the second half to talk about the experience with Nick and to converse about what life is going to be like for tattooers moving forward these days. It has been a week or so since the recording of this and we're already hearing news of certain governors wanting to open things up early and what that might mean for the health of our communities. We hope that you will listen to this story and take care and do what you feel is necessary to keep yourself and those around you safe from this epidemic that has changed all of our lives.
Though there's no Shop Talk on this episode because Andrew, Nick and Porter are still figurin' it all out, there was an interesting and fun coincidence in that the intro to this one was exactly 4 minutes and 20 seconds long on 4/20 - 2020! Light 'em up. No lies: just bullshit.
Steve O appears on the show again to bullshit with Nick like they've done several times in the past. Only this time, Steve is reporting from the center of where all this craziness is going down these days: New York City.
There's a lot of discussion of what life is like right now while so many of us are out of work, but there's also a lot of reminiscing of better times and getting tattooed and just life.
There's not a Shop Talk on this one because of social distancing and changes in schedules, but Andrew and Porter will hopefully return next episode to make it happen for everyone.
Blake Cramer, also known as Troutmouth returns once again to the NLJBS Quarantine Studios to play a few tunes while Nick shares stories and keeps things movin' along. This time he brought with him his buddy and fellow musician Sean Newman to harmonize & socialize. This here is a long one, y'all. You'll have no problem makin' this one last throughout a portion of your shelterin' in place home existence. Towards the end their pal Lizzie shows up and joins in on a few of the tunes as well. It's a long, strange but entertainin' ride so strap in and take it easy and enjoy. Stay safe.
Shop Talk brings this whole thing to a head and reminds y'all of the good times getting good tattoos from great artists. Porter and Andrew are right there with Nick showing you where to look. Now get in there and take it all in.
