Nick visits VA Beach with his family every year, but he also hangs out other times as well and has many friends in the area. Tony Riccio from Saltwater Tattoo and Igor the sign painter have been on the show. Well, Jeremy is friends with these guys and has some great stories to tell about his business, True Love Neon, and how he got in that game. Also great friends with all the guys at Absolute Art in Richmond, he recently installed some of the sickest neon waves you'll ever see for them for their recent move into a new space. There's a ton of stories to be heard, and then stick around as Porter & Andrew bring us a killer Shop Talk without Nick. Let's hear it for the guys.

Jun 30, 2020

Recurring guest of the podcast, Mr. Rich Fie joins us from NY while he and Nick have an Instagram jam session, answering questions from viewers and entertaining us with an informative comparison of the differences in how everyday lives are lived in the big city or the back country. Just a good time all around and possibly the beginnings of somethin' new for the show.

No Shop Talk this week. Porter & Andrew will return soon to get you back on track and lookin' at some great tattoos. Hell yeah.

Jun 23, 2020

It's a double shot of returning veterans of the show, Mr. Morgan Pennypacker - traveling tattooer extraordinaire and his brother Gio, better known as Diablo Dimes - singer with a killer rasp and insane blues guitar skills, both join Nick just outside the NLJBS studios for a socially distant jam and hang. There's all kinds o' great stories and good times to be had here and a few live joints laid down on the episode. Y'all enjoy as we rapidly approach episode 200.

Shop Talk follows as Chris Porter and Andrew Conner join Nick to talk about more new tattoos that you need to see to believe. Don't miss it.

Jun 16, 2020

Here they are - the fourth round of short stories called in to Nick as the world continues to transition into something. Yeah, things aren't fully back to normal, but we're getting there. Angelo is up first and it's not a long segment, but it's great. That ties directly into Eric Desmond after that. Then the tone shifts a bit with a great conversation with Thomas Michael - "Ugly Tom." These are all veterans of the show with their own episodes in the past, so you know this is going to be great.

Shop Talk follows once again with Andrew and Porter discussing some of the finest tattoos you can look at with Nick. Definitely check it out. This is a great one.

Jun 9, 2020

Having recently done an episode with Nick not too long ago, Rich Fie returns to check back in while the world continues to stay strange. Breaking up the recent series of short stories, it's a great time hearing Nick and Rich catch up and discuss all things tattooing and some future ideas. There's not a Shop Talk on this episode so it's somewhat on the shorter side for NLJBS, but that's alright. We're all just bullshittin' here anyway. There's a milestone on the horizon and we still love producin' these for y'all. Enjoy.

Jun 2, 2020

Rollin' with the changes wrought by quarantine, we've got some more excellent stories phoned in by some great friends of the show. Enjoy Justin Weatherholz and Nick talkin' about some crazy tattoo experiences and reminiscing about Pagoda Tattoo Convention. Excellent stuff. Then we have a first time appearance on No Lies Just Bullshit for the one and only Doug Hardy. He lays down some killer nostalgia for this episode and hopefully will be back in the future to elaborate. Then the wonderful Deb Yarian brings us some crazy tales from her life in tattoo shops and hangs out with Nick for a while, havin' a good time. Shop Talk brings us home once again with "Big Tats" Porter and the esteemed Andrew Conner. Always quality information when these three talk tats.

May 26, 2020

It's another week of stories gathered during the quarantine. Things are slowly beginning to open back up, but most folks are still chillin' at home for the most part, so we got a few more stories that were phoned in to Nick to keep the bullshit goin' through this thing. This week we've got Mr. Scotty Knuckles from Inksmith & Rogers kicking it off with a great talk and some entertainin' anecdotes he shares with Nick from a distance. Then we got George Archer tellin' us like it is and reminiscing some from down the road here in Virginia. Then we got good long-time friend Will Lollie tellin a hilarious tale that serves as a good warnin' to anyone full of themselves.

Shop Talk wraps it up tight with Mr. Porter and Andrew actually recordin' in person once more in the No Lies Just Bullshit studios located next door to the re-opened Alley Cat Tattoo. Excellent stuff here, y'all.

May 19, 2020

Three veterans of the podcast phone in during the quarantine to hang out with Nick for a while and kick off a new series of short stories for No Lies Just Bullshit. First up we have Kenny Brown turning us on to some real old school tattooing and shootin' the shit with Nick for a while. Then Juan Puente calls us up to share some humorous anecdotes so as not to incriminate anyone from the old days. Finally Tim Hendricks wraps up this episode with an awesome story that'll leave you feelin' good about things. It's all wrapped up with a bow in the form of another quarantine Shop Talk with Mr. Porter and Andrew Conner. Enjoy the banter, enjoy the tattoos. No Lies. Just Bullshit.

May 12, 2020

He's been on a few times before and it's always a great time hanging out with Andy Sherman and Nick when they get goin' together talkin' about all kinds of stuff. Good ol' country livin' is the main topic at hand, but you know there's gonna be some great tattoo stories and some music discussion you won't wanna miss! It's still a weird time in the world right now, so the backwoods duo touches on some relevant topics ranging from things that are happening in the world right now to old traditions and discussions. It's a good'n.

Plus: it's a quarantine miracle, y'all! We've got us a kickass phone-in Shop Talk featuring those dudes you love to miss: Mr. Andrew Conner and Chris Porter, comin' at ya live with some excellent discussion of amazing tattoos that you definitely shouldn't miss with all that free time you got. Good to have 'em back!

May 5, 2020

Nate Hall, musician from Old Heavy Hands and tattooer from down South and long time friend of Nick and the show returns for another episode to check in on things during this quarantine which we hope is about to reach its end. Lots of good times, drinks and stories from shops, shows & friends take place here, so we really hope y'all enjoy this and that it helps you get through this weird time we're all livin' in right now. Stay safe and stay in and let's do this thing together.

Shop Talks still haven't managed to manifest themselves logistically during all of our introspective reassessment of our creative lives, but hopefully next week Porter & Andrew will return!

Apr 28, 2020

RIch Fie makes his triumphant return to NLJBS to have a long talk with Nick about this quarantine we all find ourselves in. The topic of whether to tattoo during all of this comes up, as well as some downright serious discussions about family, Italian food, friendship and hip-hop. You don't want to miss it, folks.

Shop Talk hasn't quite caught up with us yet, but hopefully Mr. Chris Porter and Andrew Conner will be back to talk about what makes tattooing great in no time. Enjoy, y'all.

Apr 21, 2020

Alright y'all. It's a crazy time out there in the world right now. Nobody is hittin' the road to travel in to the No Lies Just Bullshit studios, so they're phoning in some excellent bullshit to bring you the content that you know you want to hear every week.

This time, Jill Bonney - legendary tattooer and contributor to NLJBS - clued Nick in to a good friend and tattooer in San Fran who had contracted the COVID-19 virus and has come out on the other side of it with the help of his girlfriend and a community of heroic medical workers to be able to call in and talk to Nick about the experience.

Jill comes in on the second half to talk about the experience with Nick and to converse about what life is going to be like for tattooers moving forward these days. It has been a week or so since the recording of this and we're already hearing news of certain governors wanting to open things up early and what that might mean for the health of our communities. We hope that you will listen to this story and take care and do what you feel is necessary to keep yourself and those around you safe from this epidemic that has changed all of our lives.

Though there's no Shop Talk on this episode because Andrew, Nick and Porter are still figurin' it all out, there was an interesting and fun coincidence in that the intro to this one was exactly 4 minutes and 20 seconds long on 4/20 - 2020! Light 'em up. No lies: just bullshit.

Apr 14, 2020

Steve O appears on the show again to bullshit with Nick like they've done several times in the past. Only this time, Steve is reporting from the center of where all this craziness is going down these days: New York City.

There's a lot of discussion of what life is like right now while so many of us are out of work, but there's also a lot of reminiscing of better times and getting tattooed and just life.

There's not a Shop Talk on this one because of social distancing and changes in schedules, but Andrew and Porter will hopefully return next episode to make it happen for everyone.

Apr 7, 2020

Blake Cramer, also known as Troutmouth returns once again to the NLJBS Quarantine Studios to play a few tunes while Nick shares stories and keeps things movin' along. This time he brought with him his buddy and fellow musician Sean Newman to harmonize & socialize. This here is a long one, y'all. You'll have no problem makin' this one last throughout a portion of your shelterin' in place home existence. Towards the end their pal Lizzie shows up and joins in on a few of the tunes as well. It's a long, strange but entertainin' ride so strap in and take it easy and enjoy. Stay safe.

Shop Talk brings this whole thing to a head and reminds y'all of the good times getting good tattoos from great artists. Porter and Andrew are right there with Nick showing you where to look. Now get in there and take it all in.

Mar 31, 2020

Multiple-time guest of the podcast, Mr. Shane Enholm, called Nick up and had a wild conversation. Strap in and give this one a listen during your quarantine. It's a good time.

Shop Talk wraps the episode up with Andrew and Porter joining Nick to talk about some excellent examples of tattooing and why they are great. Enjoy.

Mar 24, 2020

Back when Old Heavy Hands were last on, they told Nick about a band in Alley Cat's neck o' the woods known locally as Dogwood Tales. Well a few of the boys stopped by the No Lies Just Bullshit studios and knocked back a few with Nick and talked a long time about music and food and all kinds of stuff. Not only that, they even played three or four tunes for us. It's a good, long one for these isolating times.

Shop Talk wraps it up with Porter and Andrew joinin' in to talk about some great tattoos and the great people who are making them. Hell yeah.

Mar 17, 2020

Nick hits the road down to Absolute Art in Richmond where he finally meets up with Mike Schweigert to sit down and record an episode. Mike was visiting down from Electric Tattoo in Asbury Park, New Jersey - whose history comes up in the episode. It's a long one, but interesting throughout as they talk tons of tattoo history, discuss the various shops Schweigert has worked and touch on topics dating far back into tattoo history as well as things that are happening right now in the industry.

NLJBS veteran and friend of the show Brian Bruno adds tons of relevant insight and also hanging out is the new guy from Absolute, Ian O'Nuallain who showed up recently on episode 166.

Andrew and Porter jump in after the talk for a brand new session telling you all about some amazing tattoos on the 'Gram you can check out and see if you agree with their recent opinions. Hell yeah.

Mar 10, 2020

Rodrigo Melo came down from his shop, Woodstock Tattoo in Woodstock, NY to visit a bunch of shops and take a little tour. After checking out Alley Cat, he and Nick have a killer and energetic conversation. Andrew is hanging out as well and they all have a blast listening to Rodrigo's stories over the years and sharing tales of tattoos and friends. It's a great one that will probably have a follow up one day.

Shop Talk follows and Porter jumps in with the boys to discuss the big tats. Hell yeah.

Mar 3, 2020

Wayne "The Train" Hancock came through Harrisonburg to hang out at the NJLBS studios with Nick and to play a show at the Golden Pony downtown. Nick's been trying to get this one in for a while. It's shorter than usual, but packs a punch. Wayne and his band play a couple tunes and tell a few stories. It's damn good, y'all.

Shop Talk closes things with some killer work by artists that inspire artists. Like Mr. Chris Porter and Andrew Conner. They break down the good stuff with Nick. Sometimes they get so excited we've gotta fill in details to keep y'all up to date. Check it out.

Feb 25, 2020

Up from 510 Expert Tattoo in Charlotte, NC - Thomas Michael returns to the NLJBS Studios for a deep and introspective discussion with Nick. Andrew joins in and everyone offers their take on some very interesting issues and feelings about art, life, religion and interpretation of all three. It's an intriguing discussion that you'll be glad you didn't miss. And then Shop Talk. Starring "Big Tats" Chris Porter and Nick and Andrew and a gang of amazing art. Yes.

Feb 18, 2020

Timothy Hoyer is back on No Lies Just Bullshit and this man needs no introduction. Stopping through on one of his visits to Alley Cat Tattoo that he partakes in several times a year, Timothy sits down and has a wonderful talk with Andrew Conner about art and inspiration that you will not want to miss if you are at all a fan of either of these incomparable artists.

Nick mediates for the rest of us and gets in there with some insight and instigation that goes far enough into cracking the shell on these two modest makers that we get a glimpse of the genius we've all come to know and love from these fellas.

Stick around for the triumphant reunion of the Shop Talk Three! Porter and Andrew and Nick tell you about the tattoos that you need to see. Hell yeah.

Feb 11, 2020

Greg DeHoot has been involved in punk rock and tattooing for many years so you know he fit right in with Nick's blend of storytellin' and bullshit. Frustrated with trying to enjoy his love of traveling to tattoo with other amazing artists at conventions and other places while having access to proper gear, Greg ended up solving the lighting problem tattooers have in these situations by creating the LTD Light.

He discusses this innovation and what led up to it during this episode with Nick. Stick around for another killer Shop Talk with Mr. Chris Porter as they discuss tats one more time without Andrew, but promise a reunion on the horizon!

Feb 4, 2020

It's that time of year again when Nick heads north to not attend the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention but instead hangs out at the hotel across the way and listens to and tells some great stories with some great tattoo artists who happen to be in town. This time is no different as Nick chills with JoJo Ackerman from 10,000 Waves Tattoo in Sherman Oaks, California. JoJo talks about his long history in the business and together they share some great stories.

You're gonna love all the bullshit and also the return of Shop Talk! Andrew is still out there traveling and creating, but Nick and Porter tell you about some great tattoos. Enjoy!

Jan 28, 2020

Nick & Richie road tripped up to Philly during the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention recently and once again, didn't go inside but recorded some amazing episodes for all you bullshitters.

Rich Fie discusses Caddies, films and tattooing with Nick while a whole cast of characters who are role-called eventually in the episode, listen, laugh and every now and then chime in. So it's a fun ride we got going on here.

One more week without a Shop Talk as Andrew and Porter stay busy tatttooing everything and everyone.

Jan 21, 2020

Deep in the Shenandoah Valley, down in Rock-Town, back in the back o' the recesses of the No Lies Just Bullshit studios and whiskey reserves, two legends of the microphone of the world-renowned Harrisonburg based podcast of the ages comes the latest episode featuring the brilliance and irresistable charm of your weekly host with the most Nick Swartz and his undeniably talented and strange guest, Mister Chris Porter. You'll marvel at their passion for tattooing and telling you which movies you have to watch while belittling your own personal preferences to which you will not only delight but beg for more. It's where you wanna be and what'chu wanna be hearin'.

There ain't no Shop Talk on this one, but don't worry tattoo fans, Mr. Andrew Conner will return soon to join these two masterminds and talk some shop for y'all in the near future. P.S. - prepare yourself for the appearance of the Sky in this unique and truly wonderful intro to Episode 175. Boom.
